3 Reasons Your Website Needs Testimonials

You probably have an “about” page, blog, and plenty of information about your product or service which are all essential to a great launch. But before you present your new site to the world, you may be missing one very important piece of the perfect website puzzle….we’re talking testimonials! That’s right, those glowing words and compliments from past clients and customers that have fallen in love with your company should definitely be included. Testimonials are extremely important to include on your website and here’s three reasons why:

  • Testimonials Make Your Business More “Real”: These days it seems like just about everyone is an “entrepreneur.” Just take a casual survey of many social media platforms and you’ll quickly see how easy it is for people to create lives that they aren’t exactly living. In addition, there are a plethora of services out there that allow just about anyone to create a website and put anything on it they like! However, when you have actual testimonials from clients, you are able to show that you are actually delivering the products or services that you’re claiming to.
  • Testimonials Build Confidence in Potential Clients: Let’s face it, even when people come prepared to make an investment in return for your product or service, it doesn’t mean they have money to waste. Clients want to be sure that they are not throwing away their hard earned money by doing business with you. When there are great testimonials on your website, you give potential clients the opportunity to get the perspective of someone who was once in the same position they are trying to decide who to hire or purchase from which can improve their confidence in your company.
  • Testimonials Substantiate Your Claims: You love your business, which means you probably spend a lot of time trying to promote it. However, don’t forget that client testimonials are a very important dynamic of your marketing plan because it helps to validate everything you have been saying about how wonderful your product or service is. Look at it this way, customers expect you to say you have the best prices, quality, customer service, etc., but when someone else says it about you, that’s like marketing gold! After all, word of mouth is still the best tool to attract customers!

As a final note, if you offer more than one service or product, try to make sure you have a nice testimonial on all or most of them so that you cover all your bases when potential customer and clients are shopping around. Furthermore, don’t feel shy about asking customers to give their positive feedback on your work. If you’ve done a great job, most will be more than happy to share their experiences in support of your business.
